Report rate
Select a mouse report rate that the current HID++ connection offers.
Use Report rate in the Pointer tab to choose how often a mouse reports motion. OpenLogi supports HID++ 0x8060 adjustableReportRate and 0x8061 extendedAdjustableReportRate.
From the GUI
The row appears only when the selected mouse reports report-rate capability. It contains one button for each rate that the current connection offers:
- The selected rate is the mouse's current rate.
- Selecting a rate saves
report_ratefor the device and writes the mouse. - The device read-back replaces the optimistic selection. If the write fails, OpenLogi reads the mouse again.
The rate list belongs to the current connection. A mouse can offer different rates through different connections. The row is hidden while the mouse is offline. While a read is pending, it shows Reading report rate…. A failed read provides Couldn't read the report rate. Click to retry.
In the config
OpenLogi saves a report rate in hertz under the physical device key:
schema_version = 9
[devices."unit:6be9d300"]
report_rate = 1000On reconnect, the agent re-applies the saved rate only when the active connection offers that rate. When report_rate is absent, OpenLogi leaves the mouse's current rate unchanged. See Configuration for the complete reference.
Automation API
openlogi api report-rate returns the current rate and the rates offered by the current connection. A write accepts only one of those listed rates:
openlogi api report-rate --device "$DEVICE_ID"
openlogi api report-rate --device "$DEVICE_ID" --set 1000 --save--save persists the requested rate. Without --save, the command changes the live device only.
Pointer motion scaling
HID++ 0x2205 PointerMotionScaling is separate from Report rate. OpenLogi v0.8.15 has no GUI control for it. The only OpenLogi caller is the diagnostic command:
openlogi diag pointer-speedThe command temporarily writes a raw 8.8 fixed-point scale and attempts to restore the original scale. 256 is 1×. Use --target RAW to select another nonzero raw value. See 0x2205 PointerMotionScaling for the wire format.
Status: macOS, Linux, and Windows, for devices that expose the matching HID++ feature. See 0x8060 adjustableReportRate, 0x8061 extendedAdjustableReportRate, and 0x2205 PointerMotionScaling.
