Headsets
Adjust a headset's sidetone from the Audio tab or the command line.
OpenLogi adjusts the sidetone of a headset that reports HID++ 0x8300
Sidetone. Sidetone plays your microphone back into the headset, so you can
hear your own voice while you talk.
Supported models
| Model | USB identity | Status |
|---|---|---|
| G535 Wireless Gaming Headset | 046d:0ac4 | Tested on macOS |
Another headset that reports 0x8300 gets the same control. The G733 reports
the same feature, but OpenLogi has not been tested on it.
Adjust sidetone
Select the headset in the device gallery and open its Audio tab. The tab
appears when the headset reports 0x8300.
- Drag the Sidetone slider from
0%(off) to100%. OpenLogi writes the level when you release the slider. The slider then shows the level that the headset confirms. - The headset stores the level and keeps it when it turns off. OpenLogi does
not save sidetone in
config.toml. - While the headset is off or out of range, the tab shows that sidetone is unavailable. The USB receiver can stay connected while the headset cannot answer.
- If OpenLogi cannot read the level, click the message to read it again.
From the command line
openlogi diag sidetone reads the current level. Add a level from 0 to
100 to set it:
openlogi diag sidetone
openlogi diag sidetone 25 --device G535The command prints the level that the headset confirms. It fails if the headset confirms a different level. See Hardware diagnostics.
